Grading Scale
A 90-100% Students will receive a letter
B 80-89% grade in reading, math, ELA C 70-79% (English, spelling, writing). They D 60-69% will receive an E, S, N in science F 0-59% and social studies. (Science and social studies will only receive a grade in quarters two and four. |
Weekly Homework Schedule
As a part of your child's daily routine, please read to your child or have them read to you for at least 20 minutes each night. Students will also need to practice their math facts which can be done on the computer or using flashcards. It is never too early to start multiplication facts, as this is a third grade standard, and children will be accountable for knowing these facts proficiently by the end of third grade.
Monday: reading and math / weekly homework

Wednesday: reading and math / weekly homework
Thursday: reading and math / weekly homework
Friday: A new reading and math homework assignment will be given to students on each Friday and will be due the following Friday.

Why we encourage children to read for 20 minutes each night.
Special's Rotation
Please make sure your children have gym shoes to wear on days they have gym class. These classes will not be on the same days each week due to a six day rotation schedule: technology, gym, piano, music, gym, art.
Important Testing Dates
Plan in advance. Keep these dates free of doctor appointments, vacations, etc.

Volunteer Application
In order to attend any field trips or volunteer at other school events, the Volunteer Application must be filled out and submitted online. It must be done at the start of every school year. It's best to complete it at the beginning of the year so that you don't have to worry about it for the rest of the school year. This link takes you to the page on the EVSC site
